February EMAC Meeting with guests from the HHS SPEED program

For this meeting, EMAC will be joined by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) SPEED team to discuss availability of monoclonal treatments for federally-qualified health centers.

The Special Projects for Equitable and Efficient Distribution (SPEED) program supports direct federal allocation of COVID-19 outpatient therapeutics (i.e., monoclonal antibodies [mAbs]) to priority settings that care for populations at high risk for hospitalization. SPEED is separate and complementary to the state-based mAb allocation system. The four priority settings supported by SPEED are: long-term care facilities (LTCF), dialysis centers, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), and correctional facilities.

The Emergency Management Advisory Coalition (EMAC) is comprised of state and regional Primary Care Associations (PCAs), National Health Center Training and Technical Assistance Partners Cooperative Agreements (NTTAPs, formerly known as NCAs), and invited guests including relief partners (e.g. AmeriCares, Direct Relief, International Medical Corps), subject matter experts, federal partners, and vendors. Guests will be on an “as invited” basis and does not make the agency/ organization a member of EMAC.
