EMAC Letter of Support for Primary Care Associations is Now Available
On behalf of the Emergency Management Advisory Coalition (EMAC), we would like to convey our full support of this organization’s application to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for the State and Regional Primary Care Association (PCA) Cooperative Agreements (HRSA-20-021).
Several factors, including the upward trend in the frequency of natural and man-made disasters, the opioid epidemic, as well as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Rule requirements, led to an increased need for health center and PCA staff training in preparedness, response and recovery. Engagement in EMAC provides all partner PCAs opportunities for peer learning as well as dissemination of training, technical assistance and resources. EMAC continues to provide a forum which helps to enhance and sustain community health center’s ability to prepare, respond and recover from the vulnerable effects of a disaster.
EMAC partners are proud to endorse this application to continue serving the most vulnerable populations throughout the Nation. We wish you every success in the application process and look forward to continuing our collaborative work to expand and strengthen high quality primary health care for all.
